Mosquito Repellents: PURIFICATION and Eucalyptus Essential Oils
“Harsh chemicals in
common pesticides can cause cancer and immune system failures. Using natural
essential oils, plant extracts, is a far safer way to repel mosquito’s and other
insects naturally,” according to Dr. Len Horowitz author of “Death in the
Air, Globalism, Terrorism and Toxic Warfare”.
On Friday,
August 8, 2002, Dr. Len Horowitz appeared on national television (Fox News
network) to decry the chemical spraying associated with West Nile Virus. Dr.
Horowitz recommended 3 well known natural insect repellents considered useful in
helping to prevent mosquito bites that may transmit infectious agents such as
the West Nile Virus.
These
included:
Lemongrass
Eucalyptus
Citronella
The blend of Purification is a perfect choice because it contains six different
single oils – of which four are registered with the EPA as insect
repellents.

www.epa.gov]
Two of the six single oils
inside Purification are Citronella and Lemongrass.
A visit to the
American College of Physicians/ American Society of Internal Medicine states
historically, “The strategies for reducing the incidence of mosquito-borne
disease have been two-pronged, centering around habitat control and the use of
personal protection in the form of insect repellents”. They further sate, “the
ideal agent would repel multiple species of biting arthropods, remain effective
for at least 8 hours, cause no irritation to the skin or mucous membranes, cause
no systemic toxicity, be resistant to abrasion and rub-off, and be greaseless
and odorless.”
Purification is perfect for this because it has multiple essential oils, working
simultaneously, providing broad-spectrum coverage.
It is a broad-spectrum that is
effective against mosquitoes, biting flies, chiggers, fleas and ticks because
one does not know which specific species it may be up against. All Therapeutic
Grade A Essential Oils (Purification) stay effective for 8 to 12 hours, are
non-toxic, greaseless and absorb into the skin. Their only side-effects are
healthy to the body - - - a natural antiseptic! They can be diffused into an
area, or sprayed onto window screens or clothing, rubbed onto the skin or onto
an animals coat (makes an especially good natural flea color) for additional
repelling action.
Purification Contains:
Citronella
(Cymbopogon nardus) which is antiseptic, antibacterial, antispasmodic,
anti-inflammatory, insecticidal, and soothing to the tissues.
Citronella is registered with the EPA as an insect repellent.
Lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus) has strong antifungal properties when
applied topically. Lemongrass is registered with the EPA as an insect
repellent.
Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis CT) is antiseptic, anti-microbial and
anti-infectious. Rosemary is registered with the EPA as a Biopesticide -
Repellent.
Melaleuca (Melaleuca alternifolia) is a traditional antiseptic,
anti-infectious, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antiparasitic,
immune-stimulating and a neurotonic.
Lavandin (Lavandula x hybrida) a strong antiseptic also registered
with the EPA as an insect repellent.
Myrtle (Myrtus communis) is antibacterial and may support immune function
in fighting infectious disease.
WARNING NOTE:
The EPA website endorses
DEET very heavily. DEET stands for N, N-diethyl-3-methybenzamide. A detailed
look at DEET shows that toxic actions does and can occur. Visit
www.acponline.org/journals/annals/01jun98/mosqutb4.htm for a table
reporting major signs and symptoms attributed to exposure to DEET. It is
apparent from looking at this chart that DEET should not be applied to children
or possibly used for extended periods of time by anyone.
DEET is a synthetic mainly produced by 3M Corp., but sold to any commercial
companies for their brand-name products.
